X-rays help the chiropractor visualize the spine. This is extremely important to ensure the safety of the care, determine the extent of breakdown of the spine, and determine appropriate recommendations for care.

Depending on the findings, the chiropractor may send the patient to an outside facility for an MRI or other imaging study of the back.
